About the Role
The Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to provide Site Reliability engineering for automation services and manage code. This role offers the chance to work on impactful projects using cutting-edge technology and collaborate with passionate professionals.
Responsibilities
- Monitor CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes clusters, and application health dashboards.
- Triage alerts, apply documented fixes for low/medium issues, and escalate complex incidents.
- Write, update, and maintain basic scripts, YAML configs, and Terraform/Ansible modules.
- Perform smoke testing and validation of deployments in dev/staging environments.
- Verify monitoring, logging, and alerts function correctly after code or config changes.
- Participate in design sessions and code reviews.
- Build expertise in Linux, containers, Git, IaC, and observability tools.
- Follow team standards and change control processes.
- Maintain wiki, runbooks, deployment guides, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Perform special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- A master's degree in computer science and three (3) years of IT experience, with at least 18 months in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity.
- A baccalaureate degree and four (4) years of IT experience, with at least 18 months in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity.
- A four-year high school diploma and six (6) years of IT experience, with at least 18 months in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity.
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above, with at least a high school diploma and three (3) years of IT experience, including 18 months in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity.
- Undergraduate credits may substitute for up to two years of IT experience (30 credits per 6 months).
- Graduate credits in computer science may substitute for up to one year of IT experience (30 credits per year).
- Credits cannot substitute for the 18 months of administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory experience.
