About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Learn fundamental calibration skills and techniques.
  • Develop skills necessary to perform calibrations independently.
  • Develop skills necessary to advance to Calibration Technician II position, including working knowledge in at least four disciplines and expert competency in one.
  • Deliver on Transcat’s Quality Policy.
  • Work with other technicians to learn calibration fundamentals (e.g., measurement, temperature, electronics).
  • Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques.
  • Maintain calibration standards.
  • Perform calibration work within a laboratory setting and/or while supervised at a customer on-site.
  • Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, LMS, and classroom led instruction.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes.
  • Ability to take direction and learn from feedback.
  • Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driver history.
  • Associates degree from college or technical school; or at least one (1) year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience or training in electronics or machining is preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics are preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
  • Organizational and time management skills are preferred.
  • Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics is preferred.
  • All offers of employment are contingent upon successfully completing all pre-employment requirements, including verification of identity and employment eligibility, and when applicable, a motor vehicle driving record report.
