About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Director, Ecommerce to guide clients through the evolving Ecommerce landscape. This role is pivotal in managing strategic client relationships, acting as the senior Ecommerce lead and trusted advisor to ensure client satisfaction, business growth, and long-term partnerships. The position requires a deep understanding of emerging Ecommerce trends and the ability to integrate these insights into strategic recommendations across the entire Ecommerce ecosystem. This role will manage 1-2 direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Engage with clients as the strategic Digital Shelf lead.
- Develop customizable, scalable strategic solutions to position the agency as a best-in-class Digital Shelf partner.
- Lead a team of functional experts to strategize, execute, and measure solutions focused on digital shelf content effectiveness and end-to-end optimization for a seamless shopper experience.
- Conduct marketplace assessments, full-scale audits, competitive insights, new product launch support, keyword research, SEO- and AEO-optimized copy development, evergreen and seasonal content development, product data management, and content health analysis.
- Lead executive workshops, business reviews, capability showcases, and educational programs to enhance client knowledge and influence strategic investment decisions.
- Lead emerging commerce capabilities including Agentic Commerce, AI visibility, AI search optimization, and governance frameworks.
- Evaluate, implement, and maximize commerce technology partners and platforms.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive catalog operations, syndication governance, product information management, and content health programs.
- Manage projects within client budgets, internal billing expectations, and P&L goals.
- Identify and develop incremental growth opportunities through retailer assessments, AI/agentic commerce consulting, audits, workshops, operational optimization, and emerging commerce capabilities.
- Provide ongoing thought leadership internally and externally.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Ecommerce, Digital Commerce, or Digital Shelf.
- Experience with regulated categories (Rx, Pharma, OTC, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing results, synthesizing data, drawing out insights & implications, and developing insightful and actionable recommendations.
- Sound decision-making skills based in an agency and client setting leveraging industry knowledge.
- Ability to effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences.
- Confident presenter and clear, persuasive communicator (verbal and written) of complex data/details.
- Desire and ability to work within a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
- A strong work ethic that is proactive, collaborative, and highly organized.
- Passion for business and dissatisfaction with the status quo – always thinking of ways to improve and grow.
