About the Role
Lifemark is seeking a Kinesiologist who is passionate about enhancing the health and well-being of Canadians by expanding access to care and creating lasting impact in the communities they serve. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic outpatient clinic, helping clients get back to life.
Responsibilities
- Perform biomechanical, fitness, and functional assessments under the mentorship and direction of a physiotherapist.
- Design, implement and supervise graded exercise, work conditioning and/or work hardening programs.
- Perform biweekly reassessment of client progress through functional testing.
- Record functional and subjective findings in client charts regularly.
- Responsible for the marketing and growth of the kinesiology department through analysis of the stakeholders to create a strategic marketing plan with the assistance of the clinic director.
- Work cooperatively with clients to set and achieve functional goals.
- Conduct group orientation and education lectures, and regular one-on-one education to clients.
- Complete functional components of reports for initial, progress and discharge.
- Ensure return-to-work plans with the client and employer have been made and documented in the client's chart.
- Perform ergonomic assessments, POET’s, work hardening and facilitating FCE’s.
- Provide both individual and program-based treatments and assessments for individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents and workplace injuries.
- Support veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, first responders, and individuals facing physical, cognitive and mental wellness goals.
Requirements
- Registered and in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists.
- New Graduates are welcome to apply.
- Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Preferably with clinical outpatient rehabilitation experience in areas such as WorkSafe CRP Program, ICBC, JSV, return to work/brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, and home safety ergonomics is an asset.
