About the Role

Provide first-level customer service to dental clinic patients, manage daily clinic operations, and train student/casual employees. Responsibilities include patient assignment, appointment scheduling, emergency triage, and processing health-related transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet and route patients
• Maintain records
• Perform cashier duties
• Monitor daily clinic operations
• Assign and review work of student and/or casual employees
• Train student and/or casual employees
• Assign patients to dental students
• Maintain student and patient appointment books
• Triage emergencies
• Arrange for substitute patients
• Schedule follow-up examinations
• Ensure proper processing of health-related transactions
• Calculate payments
• Update and maintain files and records
• Provide suggestions to improve policies and procedures
• Handle inquiries requiring additional investigation or specialized knowledge

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2 years of office experience
• 2 years of dental office or related healthcare facility experience (preferred)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Familiarity with basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
• Moderate, accurate keyboarding skills
