About the Role
We are seeking responsible and reliable individuals to assist people with intellectual/developmental disabilities in our Community Programs. Your role will involve helping participants access community resources to promote independence and enhance social skills.
Responsibilities
- Implement activities based on program's scheduled activities
- Provide direct support to participants in their daily activities such as self care and community integration
- Encourage social interactions and positive behavior
- Work with individuals to promote their health and safety in the community
- Drive agency vans (Day Habilitation only) and demonstrate safe driving practices
- Complete program documentation daily per state and agency guidelines
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience assisting persons with IDD/Autism preferred
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Able to provide Direct Care assistance
- Valid NYS Drivers License
- Flexibility to work various hours throughout Nassau & Western Suffolk Counties
