About the Role
Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service within the pharmacy department. Ensures department cleanliness, manages product and supply orders, and processes invoices.
Responsibilities
- Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
- Learns customers’ names and addresses them by name.
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products, loading/unloading heavy items, and noting customer suggestions.
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service.
- Stocks received product and supplies and marks them accordingly.
- Works collaboratively with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Reviews prescriptions that are not picked up.
- Orders product and supplies at the department manager's request.
- Reviews invoices on product received.
- Coordinates nursing home medicines.
- Logs invoices.
- Prepares paperwork and compiles medicine for delivery orders and mail outs.
- Cleans the pharmacy to ensure a clean and inviting appearance.
- Takes orders for refills from customers.
- Removes trash in a timely manner.
- Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
- Gathers patient information required to prepare prescriptions.
- Keeps pharmacy supplies well stocked.
- Performs cash transactions.
- Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
- Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
- Administers Vaccines as allowed by law.
- Completes sales.
- Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Requirements
- Must be 18+.
- Must have the ability to follow written, verbal or diagrammatic instructions with several concrete variables.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers).
- Ability to file, post, and mail materials; copy data; interview to obtain basic information; and guide people.
- Maintains the confidentiality of the customer’s private medical information.
- Understands the risks of handling hazardous drugs and acknowledges that exposure may cause acute and chronic effects.
- Acknowledges that failure to follow pharmacy policies and procedures may increase the risk of exposure to hazardous drugs.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
