About the Role
This individual contributor position manages complex, high-exposure commercial claims for a specialized line of business, working closely with senior leaders. Responsibilities include managing all claim resolution activities in accordance with company protocols, achieving quality and customer service standards. Individuals in this role are recognized as the most senior technical expert in their area of expertise, with national or company-wide scope.
Responsibilities
- Manages an inventory of complex, high-exposure commercial claims, overseeing all aspects of claim handling, including coverage, investigations, and resolution strategies.
- Ensures exceptional customer service by driving continuous improvements and achieving quality and cycle time standards.
- Verifies coverage, sets and manages reserves by interpreting policy language and partnering with coverage counsel.
- Leads investigations to determine compensability, liability, and damages by gathering information and working with experts.
- Drives claim resolution by developing and executing resolution strategies, managing reserves, negotiating settlements, and managing litigation.
- Establishes and manages claim budgets by selecting and managing resources and coordinating efforts for timely resolution.
- Identifies and addresses subrogation/salvage opportunities or potential fraud.
- Achieves quality standards by managing claims according to company protocols, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation.
- Prepares and presents complex information to senior leadership, customers, and counsel.
- Maintains subject matter expertise and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Mentors, guides, develops, and trains less experienced Claim Professionals.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong familiarity with the claims litigation process.
- Experienced with catastrophic injuries in commercial auto/trucking, general liability, and/or construction lines of business.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire, where applicable.
- Advanced negotiation experience.
- Typically a minimum ten years of relevant experience.

Salary/Compensations
- $97,000 to $189,000 annually
