About the Role
The Senior Informaticist coordinates with other analytics, IT, and business areas to ensure work is completed with insights from knowledge SMEs. This role involves analyzing moderately complex to complex issues, leveraging advanced knowledge of data, modeling, and optimization to predict behavior and maximize revenue growth. The Senior Informaticist will develop, test, and validate cases to improve program outcomes and quality, contribute to innovative financial models, and articulate complex data to various company units, potentially impacting the business significantly. This position will begin to influence department strategy and involves making decisions on technical approaches for project components with considerable latitude.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates with other analytics, IT and business areas across the organization.
- Leverages advanced knowledge of data, modeling, optimization, and tools.
- Applies disciplined analytics to predict behavior and optimize programs and products.
- Utilizes advanced or predictive modeling to develop, test and validate cases.
- Contributes to more innovative approaches to financial models.
- Understands and analyzes complex data.
- Articulates complex data to various units within the company at the appropriate level.
- Impacts the business from mathematical concepts which have a potentially sizeable dollar impact on the business.
- Begins to influence department’s strategy.
- Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components.
- Work is performed without direction.
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of data analytics experience OR Master's degree and 3 years of experience.
- Track record of working with business partners in a consultative manner through the full scope of the project (intake -> exploration -> consultation -> development -> results -> delivery).
- Experience with data mining and using data to drive business outcomes and decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Able to clearly communicate results at the right level for the respective audience, including senior leadership.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
- Self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
- Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
- Occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
