About the Role

You will utilize healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with the blood collection process, including transporting and setting up equipment, creating a welcoming environment for donors, and following safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations.

Responsibilities

  • Connect personally with donors, listen to their stories, and help them understand the impact of their donation.
  • Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment for volunteer donors.
  • Ensure collected blood meets goals, regulatory requirements, and can be safely transfused.
  • Drive Red Cross vehicles and work with the team to set up and tear down equipment at donation sites.
  • Setup and tear down equipment required to conduct a mobile blood drive.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
  • A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
  • Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
  • Position may require minimum height of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications.

  • Prior leadership experience preferred

  • Starting rate $20.03/hr
