About the Role

The role is responsible for front of house duties, client and guest experience, venue presentation, and oversight of furniture and venue setups for meetings and events within Venue and Event Services managed spaces. Normal hours of work will include mornings, evenings, weekdays, and weekends on a designated basis determined by event bookings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front-of-house services within Venue and Event Services managed spaces, including delivering onsite venue booking requirements, client liaison, and guest experience.
  • Collaborate with service providers (cleaning, security) and onsite supplier coordination to ensure client booking requirements are met and venue presentation standards are maintained.
  • Assist clients with on-site queries, solve operational problems, and follow venue processes and procedures.
  • Follow instructions provided by Venue Operations Manager, oversee crew tasks, and complete end-of-shift documentation.
  • Provide guidance for Crew and Crew Supervisor through clear verbal briefs based on documentation provided, ensuring assigned tasks are executed on time and to standard.
  • Administer requests via UNSW platforms and book all onsite venue services including cleaning, security, loading dock, and venue maintenance requests.
  • Setup furniture for meetings, events, and classes, ensuring room layout is as per documented brief and venues are well presented.
  • Assist with basic AV support.
  • Support with venue operations stock control, inventory coordination (linen), and storeroom coordination.
  • Support Venue Operations Manager with basic administration, including crew briefs, documentation, and project support as required.

  • Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.

Requirements

  • High level of customer service.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems following learnt procedures.
  • Experience within hospitality, venues, or events industry desirable.
  • National and International Criminal history checks.
  • Entitlement to work and ID checks.
  • Working With Children Checks.
  • Completion of a Gender-Based Violence Prevention Declaration.
  • Verification of relevant qualifications.
  • Verification of relevant professional membership.
  • Employment history and reference checks.
  • Financial responsibility assessments/checks.
  • Medical Checks and Assessments.
