About the Role

As a Patient Care Technician on a Magnet-designated Nursing team, you will provide support to inpatient nursing staff, ensuring patient and family comfort and safety on the M17 Head/Neck Hepatobiliary unit. This 42-bed unit specializes in surgical care for head and neck cancers, complex reconstructions, and thoracic procedures, with telemetry monitoring capacity for specialized care and rapid interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse and assist patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Handle patient care situations with integrity, compassion, and professionalism.
  • Take vital signs, perform EKGs, and collect specimens.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team and provide assistance with procedures.
  • Use basic computer and data entry skills for clinical documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare-related experience in one or more of the following roles: Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Medical Technician, Phlebotomist, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • OR If less than 2 years of experience: A Nursing Assistant or other healthcare-related certification obtained within the past 12 months, AND at least 1 year of healthcare-related experience in one of the roles listed above.
  • BLS certification required by time of hire.
  • Epic EMR experience preferred.

Work Type

  • Days 7am-7:30pm
  • Monday through Friday, weekend and holiday rotation
