About the Role

As a Patient Care Technician on a Magnet-designated Nursing team, you will provide support to inpatient nursing staff, ensuring patient and family comfort and safety on the M17 Head/Neck Hepatobiliary unit. This 42-bed unit specializes in surgical care for head and neck cancers, complex reconstructions, and thoracic procedures, with telemetry monitoring capacity for specialized care and rapid interventions.

Responsibilities

Work under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse and assist patients in a timely and efficient manner.
Handle patient care situations with integrity, compassion, and professionalism.
Take vital signs, perform EKGs, and collect specimens.
Collaborate with the clinical team and provide assistance with procedures.
Use basic computer and data entry skills for clinical documentation.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of healthcare-related experience in one or more of the following roles: Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Medical Technician, Phlebotomist, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
OR If less than 2 years of experience: A Nursing Assistant or other healthcare-related certification obtained within the past 12 months, AND at least 1 year of healthcare-related experience in one of the roles listed above.
BLS certification required by time of hire.
Epic EMR experience preferred.
