About the Role

Lead execution across the full acquiring lifecycle within Visa Acceptance, focusing on financial processing accuracy, scalability, and lifecycle completeness. This is a hands-on role responsible for executing backend platform capabilities across the full acquiring lifecycle, owning the system of record for clearing, settlement, funding, pricing, disputes, and risk integration.

Responsibilities

  • Own execution of the end-to-end acquiring lifecycle: boarding → capture → clearing → settlement → funding → reporting
  • Define and deliver detailed product requirements, APIs, and data models for transaction lifecycle and financial processing
  • Own settlement and funding logic including interchange, fee calculation, net/gross settlement, and adjustments
  • Drive reconciliation workflows ensuring consistency between transaction processing, settlement outputs, and reporting
  • Define and validate interchange qualification logic, pricing constructs, and funding behaviors across lifecycle
  • Partner closely with engineering on system design, architecture, and delivery of scalable platform services
  • Identify and resolve financial discrepancies, lifecycle gaps, and data inconsistencies
  • Collaborate with Risk, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure compliance and operational readiness
  • Enable scalable, standardized capabilities to support multi-acquirer and multi-region deployment
  • Use AI/ML, copilots, and agentic tools to accelerate discovery, synthesize requirements, inspect data patterns, summarize operational issues, draft product artifacts, and improve day-to-day execution while maintaining human review and governance

Requirements

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • 10+ years of experience in payments or financial platform product/program roles
  • Deep expertise in acquiring, clearing & settlement, funding, and reconciliation
  • Deep understanding of interchange qualification, merchant pricing hierarchies, and settlement funding methods
  • Strong experience defining APIs, financial data models, and transaction lifecycle workflows
  • Experience with settlement engines, ledger/accounting systems, or financial platforms
  • Experience working with global card schemes (e.g., Visa, Mastercard)
  • Experience in multi-region acquiring platforms or partner-integrated environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills engaging both technical and non-technical global audiences
  • Ability to translate customer needs into measurable business outcomes
  • Highly autonomous and proactive in driving execution in ambiguous environments
  • Strong systems thinking with ability to work with APIs, data, SQL, and engage with senior engineering leaders
  • Collaborative mindset with a passion for working across diverse teams and sharing knowledge

  • $152,200 to $270,800 USD per year
