About the Role

We are seeking two part-time Academic Skills Tutors to provide academic skills support for students studying medicine, biomedical sciences, and healthcare programmes through a range of in-person and online interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality academic skills support through one-to-one tutorials, small group sessions, workshops, and webinars.
  • Assess students' learning needs and develop tailored support strategies.
  • Create and maintain learning resources.
  • Contribute to the Team's online provision.
  • Work closely with academic and professional services colleagues to support student success.
  • Promote effective referral pathways.
  • Evaluate provision and contribute to service enhancement activities.

Requirements

  • Hold a Cambridge DELTA or Trinity DipTESOL qualification.
  • Hold a Master's degree.
  • Experience of delivering academic skills or English for Academic Purposes (EAP) support within a higher education environment.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
  • Confident working collaboratively with staff and students.
  • Strong digital capabilities.
  • Demonstrate an up-to-date understanding of academic skills development and inclusive student support practices.
