About the Role
The Pathology Office Coordinator will support Hematopathologists and laboratory operations through a combination of administrative, clinical, and research responsibilities. This role is ideal for someone with lab or hospital experience passionate about cancer research and precision medicine.
Responsibilities
- Manage Hematopathologists’ calendars, including scheduling onsite and virtual meetings, preparing agendas, and coordinating follow-ups.
- Triage clinical and urgent requests, routing them to the appropriate pathologist or lab team in a timely manner.
- Enter and track orders for additional lab tests and procedures in Epic and follow up with internal teams and external laboratories as needed.
- Maintain spreadsheets, databases, and documentation to support clinical work, research studies, and departmental reporting using Excel and other systems.
- Prepare and submit administrative documents, including travel authorizations, expense reports, and check requests.
- Provide professional phone and email coverage, communicating accurately and promptly with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with the receipt, return, and documentation of outside pathology materials.
- Participate in departmental projects and performance improvement initiatives.
- Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience working in a lab or medical/hospital setting
- Microsoft Office Suite expertise
- Familiarity with databases and research materials
- Excellent Excel skills
