About the Role

Flying Post Camp and Logistics, in partnership with ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services, is hiring 2nd Cooks for a remote lodge near Timmins/Sudbury, ON. The role involves cooking and preparing food according to recipes and guidelines, while adhering to strict food safety and handling procedures. Safe operation of knives and kitchen equipment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
• Safely use a variety of utensils including knives.
• Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods.
• Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines.
• Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers.
• Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including accurate food safety and sanitation.
• Ensure security of company assets.

Requirements

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required.
• Validated knowledge of basic food preparation principles, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations.
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification.
• Demonstrate basic math and counting skills.
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Candidates considered for hire must pass a pre-employment D&A test and criminal background check.
