About the Role

Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Experiences Team. This role focuses on building and maintaining foundational services and SDKs that power the Speechify product experience across platforms. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of product and infrastructure, possess strategic thinking skills, and be passionate about designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that enhance user experience.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Speechify’s Product Teams to scope projects, find ways to reduce scope for faster customer feedback, navigate integration/UX tradeoffs, and deliver solutions via our cross-platform SDK.
Optimize existing functionality for faster loading and more intelligent parsing by designing efficient abstractions and improving algorithms.
Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.

Requirements

Systems thinking: ability to design end-to-end system optimizations and value simplicity.
Speed: ability to generate ideas and options quickly and prioritize effectively.
Focus: ability to engage or work heads-down in a busy, remote startup environment.
Collaboration: ability to inspire, play, and negotiate with designers, marketers, and PMs.
Prior experience with GCP is a plus.
