About the Role
Mollie Stone’s Markets is seeking a Full Time Assistant Bakery Manager for its Grand Central location in Pac Heights. This role involves partnering with the Manager on all Bakery Department duties to achieve sales and profit goals, including production, merchandising, staff development, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve the highest standards.
- Supervise, schedule, and assign duties to Team Members in the absence of the Bakery Manager.
- Provide customers with exceptional customer service.
- Assist in interviewing, training, developing, and counseling Team Members to build a high-performing team and minimize turnover.
- Establish and maintain a positive work environment that encourages high Team Member morale.
- Manage inventory and pricing to achieve required margin and labor targets.
- Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.
- Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.
Requirements
- Previous bakery management experience of at least 1-2 years is required.
- Analytical ability and math proficiency for calculating margins, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
- Passion and appreciation for Scratch Baking.
- Comprehensive Bakery product knowledge.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Enjoyment in mentoring others.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
- Local candidates only.
- Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to walk for up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to reach for up to 4 hours per day.
