About the Role

Provides clerical and administrative support for funeral operations, including interacting with the public, managing phone calls, and assisting with funeral and memorial services. Attendance at monthly staff meetings is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers and sets up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and other personal keepsakes for services.
  • Ensures proper care and storage of service-related items.
  • Prepares documents for services, cremations, and maintenance as directed.
  • Assists with the preparation of remains, including dressing, lifting, and operating the crematory, as permitted by law and company regulations.
  • Performs office duties such as answering phones, operating office equipment, and managing databases.
  • Runs errands for floral delivery, supply pickup, and document retrieval.
  • Serves as an usher, parks cars, and performs transportation duties.
  • Drives Funeral Home vehicles for services and family transportation.
  • Ensures refreshments are available where legally permitted.
  • Assists with visitations, memorial, and funeral services, including setup, dressing remains, and delivering family items and flowers.
  • Greets and assists client families and visitors at the office.
  • Accommodates family needs during services and visitations.
  • Washes and cleans funeral home vehicles and other client vehicles as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required.
  • Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
