About the Role
Assist the Engineering Manager in the day-to-day management of the engineering function at the Ash Grove garage, ensuring fleet maintenance standards are met and influencing Health & Safety, fatigue management, and employee wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair a modern and varied fleet of vehicles.
- Ensure fleet of buses are maintained to the standard required by the Company, TfL and the DVSA.
- Achieve maximum vehicle availability.
- Continually improve standards.
- Influence Health & Safety compliance/culture.
- Influence fatigue management.
- Influence employee wellbeing.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering and vehicle maintenance procedures for large vehicles, preferably PCVs.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering.
- Knowledge of bodywork construction.
- Knowledge of basic stores procedures.
- Ability to gain a Transport CPC, if requested.
- Ability to plan, prioritise, analyse and make decisions.
- Up-to-date understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
- Engineering supervisory or management background working with large vehicles.
