About the Role
The PET Systems Engineer is responsible for the computer networking systems associated with the Brain Health Imaging Centre’s specialized equipment and infrastructure, including medical cyclotrons, automated radiochemistry equipment, radiation safety systems, PET, CT, and MRI scanners, and related imaging equipment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and develop computing environments.
- Integrate software and hardware.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform repairs of servers, workstations, and associated hardware.
- Design, build, and test specialized devices and systems for radiochemistry, PET imaging, and physics experimentation and measurements.
- Optimize equipment system performance and minimize failures through quality control and development of quality assurance procedures.
- Develop, implement, integrate, maintain, upgrade, and provide technical support of specialized computer systems, networks, data servers, workstations, and associated software & hardware.
- Support and assist in the monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of cyclotrons and associated subsystems, radiochemistry devices, radiation safety & monitoring systems, and PET imaging equipment.
- Participate in and support BHIC quality assurance.
- Adhere to and promote the highest standards of engineering, radiation safety, and workplace practices.
- Perform all work in compliance with applicable legislation and requirements, including the Nuclear Control and Safety Act (CNSC) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
- Perform all duties in compliance with CAMH policies and procedures, and those specific to the Brain Health Imaging Centre.
- Provide support to the Manager, Engineering Division as needed for other initiatives.
