About the Role

We’re seeking a Product Designer to join our Experience Design team, focused on creating memorable and meaningful product experiences that build the Capital One brand, drive business advantage, and foster innovation. The Experience Design team enriches digital and physical customer experiences through collaboration, authenticity, and healthy critique, valuing diversity of thought and creating a culture of belonging.

Responsibilities

  • Combine craft expertise with customer and business understanding to co-create innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Leverage deep expertise in product design, interaction, visual, and service design to elevate the design practice.
  • Use appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • Create artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
  • Champion the customer through the design process, considering data, research insights, scalability, tech constraints, and feedback.
  • Understand and apply business and customer strategy.
  • Facilitate design process activities with teams and partners, negotiating customer needs and business goals.
  • Build an understanding of tech and data capabilities, emerging technologies, and their potential.
  • Use knowledge of tech and data to inform work and identify new opportunities.
  • Help teams navigate technical limitations.
  • Foster relationships with partners and expand your network.
  • Listen to diverse points of view and collaborate with an informed perspective.
  • Influence outcomes, break down silos, and gain alignment.
  • Present work to audiences across levels and job functions.
  • Articulate insights and design decisions using a human-centered approach, integrating design frameworks, data, and research insights.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a Product Design role.
  • At least 3 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a Product Design role.
  • At least 4 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma.
  • At least 4 years of experience collaborating with product, tech and business partners.
  • At least 4 years of experience working with an established design system.
  • Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces.

  • New York, NY: $143,200 - $163,500
