About the Role

ITT Goulds Pumps is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer for their Seneca Falls, NY location. This role involves developing software programs to direct CNC machines for producing industrial pump components, utilizing CAD models and blueprints to guide machining operations for precise and efficient production.

Responsibilities

  • Program CNC equipment including Horizontal and Vertical Lathes, Horizontal and Vertical Milling Centers, and Multi-Axis Lathes and Machining Centers.
  • Review blueprints and program from CAD models offline using CAM software.
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
  • Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines.
  • Analyze work orders for requirements to produce product efficiently.
  • Create setup sheets and tool lists.
  • Decide optimized tools, speeds, feeds, and fixtures to be used.
  • Run simulation tests and collect data.
  • Conduct quality testing and correct/improve program code to increase efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Communicate with other programmers, shop floor management, machinists/setup operators, and engineering to achieve solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED or trade school certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining and programming experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machines.
  • Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English, perform simple shop math calculations, and follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Lean/setup reduction and mistake proofing experience.
  • Familiar with Creo Pro E and other design software.
  • General computer experience, including MSOffice (Excel, Teams, Word, Power Point).
  • Strong proficiency with MasterCam software.
  • 3-dimensional thinking.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently.
  • Creative problem solver (PDCA).
  • Comfortable having responsibility and being accountable for work.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiar with Lean and Kaizen techniques.
