About the Role

The Occupational Health and Hygiene Leader will provide comprehensive support to the Advanced Research Center (ARC) team, focusing on the proactive assessment and control of occupational health and exposure risks. This role is designed for an emerging EHS professional ready to take ownership of site health programs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive a culture of safety. As an early-career leader, you will be responsible for both strategic program development and hands-on technical fieldwork. GE Vernova is committed to your growth; we provide an environment centered on critical technical learning, mastery of emerging safety technologies, and the practical application of exposure control methods to ensure the safety of our research teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute industrial hygiene monitoring strategies, including air sampling, noise dosimetry, and radiation surveys.
  • Use quantitative data to characterize exposure profiles and validate the effectiveness of engineering and administrative controls.
  • Develop deep expertise in the technologies and systems required to safeguard the ARC, including chemical management, radiation protection, and specialized control systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, managing programs for industrial hygiene, chemical safety, and ergonomic health.
  • Partner with scientists and engineers to assess risks at the design phase of new research projects and equipment installations.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of health-related programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and GE Vernova’s internal EHS standards.
  • Provide training and coaching to the ARC team, translating complex technical health data into actionable safety behaviors.
  • Utilize Lean principles to drive measurable EHS excellence and solve operational challenges through data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Health Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in an industrial, research, or laboratory setting.
  • Demonstrated practical experience in designing and performing quantitative industrial hygiene sampling (e.g., air sampling, noise surveys, or area monitoring).
  • A commitment to continuous, critical learning and the application of cutting-edge safety technologies to identify and mitigate evolving workplace hazards.
  • Ability to interpret sampling results against regulatory limits and translate findings into clear, effective risk mitigation recommendations for the team.
