About the Role

Join BTY's Lender Services team in Toronto as a Senior Project Consultant. You will act as a trusted advisor to lenders, providing oversight for complex development projects, evaluating costs, schedules, and risks to ensure financial confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on 15-20 projects per month with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct site inspections and prepare reports with photographs.
  • Prepare and review progress claim reports, including submitting invoices, valuing changes, analyzing site progress, and recommending loan advances.
  • Prepare budget reviews through detailed analysis of development proposals, understanding lender requirements and engagement terms.
  • Establish spatial analysis for building sectors.
  • Stay informed about market intelligence, construction rates, and procurement routes/contracts.
  • Understand specialist consultant reports and their impact on development proposals.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members, including site visit introductions.
  • Network to promote the business, cross-sell services, build contacts, and enhance client relationships.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • University Degree or equivalent in Architectural Building Technology, Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Construction Engineering, or Project Management.
  • Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial projects is a strong asset.
  • Working towards or holding a relevant professional qualification (PQS and/or MRICS).
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and initiative.
  • Responsive to internal and external stakeholder requests.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational, communication, and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative.
  • Attention to detail for quality work and good time management.
  • Eligible to work in Canada or pursuing a work permit.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • No Canadian work experience required.
