About the Role
The Quality Engineer is responsible for administering the Quality Program within the assigned operation, identifying improvement opportunities, and investigating, analyzing, and implementing solutions to quality issues.
Responsibilities
- Eliminate nonconformance, defect costs and delays by identifying root cause of problems and implementing/directing corrective actions that prevent potential reoccurrences of problems.
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality plans.
- Provide technical support required to improve supplier competence and performance.
- Apply quality tools to improve operations and support functional quality competence and performance.
- Provide leadership and support for all aspects of the Quality Assurance program in conjunction with other Q.E.’s and the Quality organization.
- Analyze quality costs, develop and generate reports and/or actions to drive improvement.
- Assist in identifying the need for, and the creation of, Salvage/scrap tickets, DAR’s, CAPA’s, etc. and collecting and analyzing data.
- Analyze scrap and rework. Report and recommend improvements.
- Review and investigate customer complaints, compile data and document findings.
- Communicate supplier and internal quality problems and validate corrective actions.
- Interface with suppliers at the plant as well as attend visits to supplier locations to deal with issues as they occur.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

- Knowledge of Foundry Terminology and Processes helpful.
- Job Shop experience a plus
