About the Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to combine civilian firefighting with military purpose, supporting Defence operations in the UK and overseas. It's a chance to build a career where you will be trained, supported, and trusted to make a real difference as part of the RAF firefighter force.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to real incidents in high-pressure environments
  • Work with specialist equipment and RAF teams
  • Support Defence operations in the UK and overseas
  • Be part of a close-knit, professional team

Requirements

  • Be a UK or Republic of Ireland citizen, dual national, or Commonwealth citizen from birth
  • Have lived in the UK for at least 5 years (in some cases, 3 years may be considered)
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Be able to meet the required fitness standards, including selection and pre-joining tests
  • Meet the medical and health standards for the role, including eyesight and general fitness
  • Be prepared to complete situational and behavioural assessments, along with all required background checks

Salary/Compensations

  • £30,954 starting salary, rising to £34,823 once fully trained
  • £7,000 deployment payment each time you deploy overseas
  • £1,500 annual Operational Training Supplement (subject to criteria)
