About the Role

The Senior Application Specialist is responsible for the effective operation, support, and maintenance of Council’s Corporate Applications, ensuring they meet vendor requirements and industry best practices while pursuing innovative approaches to support Council’s operations and enhance the customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high-quality corporate applications
  • Resolve complex technical issues
  • Lead application upgrades and enhancement projects
  • Manage incidents and system changes in accordance with IT Service Management procedures
  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams
  • Deliver effective data analysis and reporting
  • Oversee system integrations
  • Maintain a secure and controlled application environment through auditing and preventative maintenance
  • Promote Council's professional and customer-focused values through effective communication, collaboration, and service delivery

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience supporting and administering enterprise corporate applications
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining and supporting core corporate business applications, including resolving complex application problems in conjunction with business stakeholders and software vendors
  • Experience developing innovative solutions to business problems through research and application of in-depth technical expertise
  • Extensive experience applying change management discipline, including documentation of IT processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience managing stakeholder relationships, including liaising with vendors, external consultants, and cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience in self-management, including adapting your approach to overcome obstacles and re-prioritise conflicting or competing tasks to meet deadlines
  • Project delivery experience, including leading or supporting application upgrades and enhancement projects
  • Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Must obtain a National Police Check
  • May be required to undergo a pre-employment medical check

  • $106,968.14 to $117,209.74 + super
