About the Role

Responsibilities
- Provides patient care by performing basic and selected specialized procedures under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Collects and records specimens and body fluids.
- Performs venipuncture for blood samples, EKG's, and telemetry readings under nurse supervision.
- Collects patient data and documents it on appropriate flow sheets.
- Attends to patients' environmental needs and offers comfort measures as directed by the nurse.
- Participates in Quality Assurance activities as directed by the nurse.
- Orients patients/families to the unit and provides copies of the Patients' Bill of Rights.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the nurse to support unit functioning and patient care delivery.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and two years of experience in health care delivery (e.g., Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, EMT, Medic/Corps Person).
- Alternatively, two clinical semesters completed as a Nursing Student.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience is also accepted.
