About the Role

The Analyst, Market Insights Intern will work at the intersection of business and technology, developing solutions by improving the enterprise’s technology and data assets. This role will maximize Big Data tools and the Enterprise Data Platform to aid in the development of quantitative analytics for strategic decision making and provide data-driven insights. Additionally, they will develop Web Applications, scripts, and back-end services to help Sales, Operations, and Product Development teams realize efficiencies through process automation and self-serve analytics.

Responsibilities

Leverage TMX data assets to provide quantitative and strategic support to internal and external collaborators
Develop tools, processes and analytics to deliver meaningful insights and automate processes for internal partners in Sales, Operations and Product Development
Scripts to automate data extraction, cleaning and transformation
Scripts to automate reporting processes and identification of relevant insights
Back-end services that interact with multiple data sources in order to compile and serve clean, high quality data for downstream processes

Requirements

Currently working towards an undergraduate degree in a quantitative or technology focused field such as Computer Science, Engineering or Business with a joint degree/minor in a quantitative/analytical subject area
Experience writing queries in SQL
Experience writing code in Python
Experience working with Big Data tools such as Presto, Hive, Apache Spark
Experience using tools such as Docker, Git, JIRA
An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, analytical and research skill
A self-starter who is hardworking, flexible and able to work independently as well as part of a dedicated team in a demanding environment
Must be authorized to work in the country where this position is located
