About the Role
Serve as a fully integrated member of the Pharmacy Department, assisting pharmacists by performing technical tasks under their direct supervision for all pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Ensure pharmacists have the necessary medications and supplies for their professional responsibilities. Prepare sterile, parenteral products using aseptic techniques and perform drug distribution processes accurately, including patient bin distribution, IVPB and LVP distribution, restocking Omnicell cabinets, and managing returns. Rotate through various pharmacy areas such as UCC, PEDS, ICU, M18, AB07, Robot & R5 Clean Room.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists by performing technical tasks under their direct supervision for all pediatric, adult and geriatric patients
- Assure that the pharmacists have the medication and supplies necessary for executing professional responsibilities
- Prepare sterile, parenteral products using aseptic techniques as per department guidelines
- Perform drug distribution process without error (e.g., patient bin distribution, IVPB, LVP distribution to medication rooms and refrigerators, restocking Omnicell cabinets, managing returns)
- Rotate different pharmacies, including but not limited to: UCC, PEDS, ICU, M18, AB07, Robot & R5 Clean Room
Requirements
- Valid NY Pharmacy Technician License
- CPhT certification
- Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong computer skills and the ability to develop a good understanding of pharmacy systems
