About the Role

The Microsoft Security organization is seeking a Solution Engineer Manager to lead a team of Security Solution Engineers. This role involves supporting customers in evaluating their applications and business requirements, recommending tailored solutions, and demonstrating cutting-edge technologies. The position offers opportunities for career growth, developing business acumen, honing selling skills, and leadership development within Microsoft.

Responsibilities

  • Align with the Specialist Sales Manager on territory and account priorities.
  • Ensure Solution Engineers drive progress through key customer engagement milestones.
  • Represent the Solution Engineering team in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Coach and model best practices for the Solution Engineering Team.
  • Establish a consistent cadence with prioritized partners.
  • Lead the Solution Engineers within the team-based model.
  • Set team goals to win technical decisions.
  • Coach the team to regularly update progress milestones.
  • Develop technical depth to support coaching and modelling of advanced solution capabilities.
  • Build team expertise to Level 300/400 in Security solution knowledge.
  • Ensure the Technical Sales Team leverages all available resources at Microsoft.
  • Mentor the team on technical whiteboarding and mapping business processes.
  • Collaborate with Global Black Belt Managers to escalate technical blockers.
  • Build and maintain executive stakeholder support.

Requirements

  • Proven technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
  • Experience of Microsoft Security Platform and solutions; Presentations, Story Telling, Technical Conversations, Proof of Concepts.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND few years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on, technical pre-sales experience across the Microsoft Security portfolio or related competitive products with depth (Level 300/400) in at least three of the following pillars: Threat protection / XDR, Cloud-native security (CNAPP), SIEM/SOAR, Identity & access, Data security & compliance.
  • Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, or developing technical professionals in a pre-sales, solution engineering, consulting, or cybersecurity environment.
  • Ability to inspire teams, drive performance, develop talent, and create an inclusive, high-performing culture aligned to Microsoft's Model, Coach, Care leadership framework.
