About the Role

As a Primary Therapist, you’ll be at the heart of our clinical team, conducting assessments, crafting personalized treatment plans, and facilitating engaging individual, family, and group therapies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary clinical contact for families, ensuring proactive and open communication.
  • Lead individual, family, and group therapy sessions utilizing Newport Healthcare’s clinical model and Attachment-Based Family Therapy techniques.
  • Conduct risk or crisis assessments and provide timely interventions.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision sessions.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field or enrollment in Doctorate program from an accredited or state approved graduate school.
  • MN License in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychologist.
  • For non-licensed candidates: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related therapeutic field.
  • For non-licensed candidates with a closely related degree pursuing LPCC: Demonstrate education meets coursework requirements for the license.
  • Experience with individual, family, and/or group therapy with young adults/adolescents.
  • Experience with mental health, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed treatment preferred.
