About the Role
Join Petco to help pets live their best lives by ensuring data integrity and providing insightful reporting. This role is crucial for supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Execute daily/weekly data quality checks and profiling across core retail domains (Customer, Product, Inventory, Sales).
- Maintain and update the enterprise data dictionary and business glossary.
- Identify, document, and triage data quality issues, collaborating with IT and data engineering for resolution.
- Design, develop, and maintain standardized reporting and dashboards using tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
- Assist Data Science and Business Intelligence teams by certifying datasets for predictive modeling and analytics.
- Fulfill ad-hoc reporting requests and guide business users toward self-service tools.
- Document data lineage from source systems to target analytical environments.
- Assist in training business users on data governance best practices and reporting tool usage.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or data governance, preferably within the retail or consumer goods industry.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong analytical mindset.
- Ability to translate complex data concepts into clear business terms.
