About the Role
As a Field Application Engineer, you will work directly with customers across Europe to plan, simulate, and deploy vision-guided robotics applications. You will act as a consultant and educator, guiding them to maximize their investment. You will be the expert who can troubleshoot a calibration issue in the morning and lead a capability workshop in the afternoon. Your success will be measured not only by completed deployments but by customers who genuinely understand and expand the capabilities of Apera's technology. You will be supported with direct mentorship from our European Technical Lead, providing a strong foundation for growth as you build expertise and customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead on-site installations and commissioning of Apera's vision software, including site assessments, system configuration, and calibration for production environments.
- Deliver hands-on training and build software familiarity across customer teams.
- Engage with plant managers, automation engineers, and operations leads to understand processes and identify value creation opportunities.
- Diagnose and resolve post-install issues, coordinating with internal teams as needed.
- Document field observations, recurring challenges, customer questions, and application patterns to provide feedback for product improvement.
Requirements
- Experience in robotics, machine vision, industrial automation, or a closely related technical field.
- Comfortable working on production floors and interacting with operational staff.
- Ability to adapt communication style for technical calibration sessions and consultative conversations.
- Genuine interest in customer empowerment and adoption of deployed technology.
- Self-directed and organized, capable of managing schedule, travel, and priorities across a multi-country territory.
