About the Role

This role builds the data platform that finance runs on. You will own the end-to-end platform, including data pipelines, the modeled layer for data integrity, and interfaces for finance users. The goal is to create a reporting layer that is fast, reliable, and self-service, eliminating the ERP as an analytical bottleneck.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the finance data warehouse, designing pipelines to replicate ERP data and land key financial information.
• Build the GL reporting cube with business-friendly dimensions and hierarchies for detailed analysis.
• Ensure data correctness through testing, validation, and reconciliation checks.
• Partner with accounting to define and implement a standardized dimensional backbone.
• Support consolidation and budget-vs-actuals reporting by joining forecasts to actuals in the cube.
• Develop interfaces for Excel-native reporting, BI, and AI agents.
• Extend the platform to support future financial reporting needs, including forecast, asset management, and tax equity fund reporting.

Requirements

• 3-7 years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or BI development.
• Experience building and running at least one financial reporting platform (warehouse plus cube or semantic layer) in production.
• Expert SQL and dimensional modeling skills.
• Proficiency in pipeline fundamentals for reliable ERP data movement.
• Working accounting fluency, including understanding of chart of accounts, debits/credits, and close calendars.
• An auditor's instinct for correctness, including tying out to the GL and testing logic.
• Founding-hire ownership mentality, capable of scoping and shipping initial versions independently.
• Fluency working alongside AI, treating agents as first-class data consumers.
• Plain-English communication skills with finance stakeholders.
