About the Role
Oversee construction projects, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction. Lead field operations, manage resources, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Oversee construction to ensure alignment with approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
- Contribute to M&E Scope of Work and Tender Packages by reviewing specifications, drawings, budgets, and subcontractor contracts.
- Develop and manage mechanical and electrical schedules, including submissions, deliveries, installations, and inspections, track progress and address delays.
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents with schedule updates, RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and project completion requirements.
- Plan and implement manpower levels, material needs, and equipment availability.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical work, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Resolve conflicts in structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings and specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks on HVAC, boilers, chillers, and other systems.
- Oversee functional performance testing of building systems.
- Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor progress.
- Mentor and guide project team members to support their development and career growth.
- Maintain project quality through compliance with the Project Quality Program.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar supervisory role managing large ICI construction projects, with a focus on mechanical and electrical components.
- Experience in full-cycle construction; healthcare and design-build project experience are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, boilers, chillers, and electrical systems.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors, ensure quality, and maintain safety compliance.
- Familiarity with OH&S and environmental standards.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
