About the Role

Under the delegation and supervision of an RN, provides clinical support with basic nursing care and patient monitoring for the general welfare and safety of all patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with basic patient care, including hygiene, feeding, and intake/output measurement.
  • Measures and records vital signs, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, and weight.
  • Performs selected procedures such as specimen collection and basic wound care.
  • Maintains clean and orderly patient care areas.
  • Orients patients to the unit and responds to call lights promptly.
  • Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition to the RN.
  • Assists with respiratory therapy equipment and oxygen administration.
  • Keeps the RN informed of work status and availability.
  • Assists with patient mobility and provides escort assistance as needed.
  • Performs patient observer role when assigned.
  • Meets performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, and professional development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year medical/surgical or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Nurse Aide Certification or equivalent required.
  • BLS certification required.

Experience Level

  • Minimum of one year medical/surgical or equivalent experience preferred.

Education Level

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program or equivalent
