About the Role

Provide highest level member service through efficient, accurate transaction processing and a consultative needs-based sales approach, focused on establishing new member relationships, and deepening and retaining existing relationships, to cross sell HVCU products and services. Verbal and written fluency in English and Spanish is required and rewarded.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process transactions and educate members on convenient transaction methods.
  • Resolve member complaints and concerns efficiently, involving other functional areas as needed.
  • Handle large volumes of cash and negotiable items, and assist management with daily operational tasks.
  • Open new memberships, accounts, and loans, and process related transactions.
  • Refer members to business partners for specialized product consultations.
  • Utilize required programs and systems to cross-sell HVCU products and services.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of credit union products and services through ongoing training.
  • Train new Universal Branch Associates as needed.
  • Meet or exceed individual and team goals using the HVCU Sales and Service model.
  • Support marketing programs and promotions by creating member awareness.
  • Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in required training, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and demonstrate attained knowledge.
  • Participate in Credit Union teams, projects, and strategic initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles, including Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Sales and Service Model.
  • Support Credit Union initiatives through teamwork and professionalism.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including punctuality.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate, or a current high school senior with satisfactory academic standing.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English and Spanish.
  • NYS Notary Public license achieved within 12 months of obtaining the position.
  • Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS).
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service and sales experience in a financial institution or retail environment.
