About the Role
AMD's embedded business unit is seeking a senior leader in product/NPI program management to lead a team of program managers driving key development programs from conception to completion. This role involves realizing the roadmap into actual embedded products and may require direct program management ownership of embedded product lines.
Responsibilities
- Lead the product program management team, scaling its competency and bandwidth for increasing program scope.
- Provide oversight and guidance to program managers, resolving dependencies and bottlenecks.
- Ensure programs meet execution metrics, adapting to changes with agility.
- Drive concept, feasibility, and planning exit milestones, securing senior management approvals.
- Lead key initiatives for BU-level challenges such as yield improvements and DPPM reduction.
- Prepare end-to-end plans for NPI and derivative programs.
- Develop and implement lightweight processes to enhance execution focus and efficiency.
- Manage and resolve escalations with urgency and proactive problem-solving.
- Prepare and present program status reports to executives, highlighting risks and data for decision-making.
- Drive cross-functional alignment among different teams.
- Share best practices with other product program management organizations.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in a similar role within semiconductor companies.
- Experience leading a team of NPI program managers at director level or above.
- Experience creating and deploying processes for efficiency and scale.
- Strong Program Management and Execution skills.
- Well-versed with different project management tools.
- Good breadth and strong technical knowledge (SoC, BIOS, Platforms, SW, Tools, Manufacturing).
- Experience in overall product stack, not just silicon.
- Proven track record of enabling several NPI programs resulting in successful products.
- Experience working in a multisite and multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Team player with passion and hunger for business success.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent skills in managing up with data/reports to executives for visibility and decision making.
- Ability to align, resolve conflicts, and build consensus.
- High sense of urgency and drive for results.
- Relentless focus on customer satisfaction.
