About the Role

NEXT Electric, LLC is seeking a full-time Electrical Estimator in New Berlin, Wisconsin. This role is crucial for preparing comprehensive cost estimates for electrical projects and ensuring timely completion.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complete cost estimates for all types of electrical projects.
  • Understand and monitor program of work to ensure estimates are completed prior to deadlines.
  • Schedule and attend field walk-throughs with customers, subcontractors, and construction personnel to determine constructability requirements.
  • Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency.
  • Participate in estimate review processes with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Follow up at the end of projects to close estimating process loops.
  • Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
  • Consult with customers and project managers to gather information for estimates.
  • Obtain bids from vendors and components to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Attend job site walkthroughs as necessary.
  • Prepare project construction schedules.
  • Submit Request for Information to clients.
  • Review and monitor job costs versus budgets.
  • Develop an understanding of the client’s culture, key people, and processes.
  • Assist construction personnel in tracking and understanding the basis of cost estimates.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of change orders.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of related experience or equivalent education, technical training, and experience.
  • Accubid/LiveCount and/or Construction Environment experience is a plus.
  • Proficient PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Customer oriented: Ability to take care of customer needs while following company procedures.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of mediums.
  • Detail oriented: Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Time management: Ability to utilize available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, MVR check when applicable, and drug test as required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.
