About the Role
St. Joseph Hospital, a member of Catholic Health, is seeking an Emergency Department technician to assist in patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This role is crucial for providing excellent patient experience and nursing excellence within a community hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Assists in patient data collection.
- Provides appropriate care to assigned patients.
- Performs treatments and procedures according to established hospital policy and procedures.
- Prepares patient environment for receiving patients.
- Assists in and accompanies patient in the admission, transfer and discharge process.
- Assists the nurse or physician in procedures and treatments.
- Appropriately places patients on a cardiac monitor as instructed by nursing staff.
- Handles and cares for patients clothing, valuables and other personal property from admission through discharge.
- Functions appropriately during emergencies and crisis situations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Required.
- Successful completion of a duly authorized CNA Training program with CNA certification, OR EMT-B certification OR a Nursing Student enrolled in a Nursing program who has completed Fundamentals of Nursing including a clinical rotation.
- BLS from American Heart Association is required.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be able to read and write basic English.
