About the Role
The Relationship Advisor (RA) manages a portfolio of Commercial Banking Clients, overseeing client onboarding, servicing, and proactive solutioning. As a key member of the client's relationship team, the RA acts as the dedicated point of contact for deposit and cash management banking needs.
Responsibilities
- Leads client onboarding, collaborating with Relationship Managers and Product Advisors.
- Conducts client discussions to identify deposit and cash management needs.
- Performs product demonstrations independently.
- Sets expectations for data and documentation requirements for new services, including product documentation and KYC.
- Gathers and validates legal documentation for KYC compliance.
- Coordinates with centralized support teams for product fulfillment and keeps clients informed.
- Proactively engages clients post-onboarding to review services and ensure understanding.
- May assist junior RAs with client onboarding.
- Acknowledges and orchestrates fast resolution of in-bound service inquiries.
- Transitions service tasks to appropriate support teams, keeping clients informed.
- Researches and resolves complex client inquiries.
- Leverages client service needs to identify broader solutions.
- Takes initiative to resolve complex client inquiries before escalating.
- Advises clients on risk mitigation strategies for money laundering and fraud.
- Manages internal Know Your Client (KYC) for new onboardings, articulating BSA/AML requirements.
- Supports clients in triaging additional information for regulatory requirements.
- Leads client discussions on fraud mitigation strategies.
- Collaborates with Relationship Managers and operational partners on KYC, Sanction, High Risk Industry, and Fraud alerts.
- Stays apprised of client strategy and advises the relationship team on service themes and trends.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to support client needs based on industry and life stage.
- Conducts proactive client touchpoints to strengthen relationships.
- Performs client account reviews and facilitates product discussions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year of experience in banking/financial services industry or customer service experience OR High School/GED with 5 years of experience.
- Retail branch banking experience (Preferred).
- Strong experience building client relationships (Preferred).
- Demonstrated organizational skills (Preferred).
- Able to prioritize tasks with effective time management in a fast-paced environment (Preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (Preferred).
- Able to work in a team environment and comfortable working independently (Preferred).
