About the Role

Join a high-performing Middle Office team that plays a critical role in supporting Global Banking & Markets operations. As an Assistant Manager, you will contribute to the efficient execution of trade lifecycle activities, trade control functions, and client service deliverables while helping ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance. This role is ideal for a professional with capital markets operations experience who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, driving process improvements, and supporting critical business initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily operational activities supporting Global Banking & Markets business lines, with a focus on trade lifecycle management, trade control activities, and client service support.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions and operational deliverables.
  • Investigate, resolve, and escalate operational issues as required while maintaining service level expectations.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and strict deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, controls, and efficiencies across the Middle Office.
  • Lead and support initiatives focused on streamlining workflows, reducing operational risk, and enhancing service delivery.
  • Develop business requirements, process documentation, testing plans, and implementation strategies for operational enhancements.
  • Monitor project progress, track deliverables, and support successful implementation of approved solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Front Office, Technology, Operations, and other business areas to drive change initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong control environment by adhering to applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and operational procedures.
  • Support compliance with operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risk frameworks.
  • Identify control gaps and recommend solutions to mitigate operational risk.
  • Contribute to ongoing process reviews and control enhancements to support business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to junior team members when required.
  • Support the Manager with operational initiatives, projects, and team-related activities.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in capital markets, banking operations, financial services, business analysis, or process improvement and solution implementation.
  • Experience supporting capital markets or banking operational processes.
  • Knowledge of trade lifecycle management and trade control functions.
  • Experience with process mapping, process analysis, and operational improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functionality.
  • Experience using SQL, VBA, or Microsoft Access.
  • Understanding of operational workflows, controls, and risk management practices within a financial services environment.
