About the Role
RBC Borealis is seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager to lead the development of next-generation AI products for Personal Banking. This role involves translating advanced AI models from research into production-ready solutions, collaborating with AI experts, and driving responsible AI adoption within a regulated financial environment.
Responsibilities
- Define AI Product Strategy and Roadmap: Shape the vision for AI-driven products aligned with business priorities and translate that vision into a clear, executable roadmap.
- Bridge Research and Production: Collaborate closely with machine learning researchers and engineers to transition cutting-edge AI models into scalable, production-ready solutions that deliver real business value.
- Drive Responsible AI and Governance: Ensure all AI products meet standards for fairness, transparency, explainability, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead Cross-Functional Execution: Coordinate across research, engineering, design, risk, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end AI products, from ideation to deployment and iteration.
- Measure Impact and Optimize Performance: Define success metrics (e.g., model performance, business KPIs, user adoption) and continuously improve products using experimentation, monitoring, and feedback loops.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (MBA or advance degree is a plus)
- 5+ years of product management experience, with a focus on AI/ML-powered products from ideation through production and continuous iteration
- Strong understanding of machine learning concepts (e.g., model lifecycle, evaluation metrics, data dependencies) without needing to be hands-on coding daily
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value and actionable product requirements
- Experience working in highly regulated environments, with a focus on responsible AI, governance, and compliance
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams across research, engineering, data science, and business stakeholders
- A data-driven mindset with a track record of defining KPIs, running experiments, and using insights to drive product decisions
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with experience managing senior stakeholders and delivering executive-level presentations
