About the Role

The Energy Markets & Systems Integrated Modeling Team supports developers, operators, and sponsors in bringing grid-scale and community renewables, storage, and green fuels resources to market. The team also assists utilities and large load companies in optimizing their long-term power supply strategies by developing and maintaining quantitative market models for client decision-making, business improvement, and grid reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Support large and complex client engagements.
  • Track and analyze energy market trends.
  • Translate clients' inquiries and challenges into actionable scopes of work.
  • Compile reports, presentations, and other documents to communicate solutions, strategies, and analysis to clients.
  • Develop and use analytical models, programming, and simulations to forecast market prices, conduct research and development, and create tools to improve productivity and accuracy.
  • Review and approve model outputs via data collection, manipulation, and analyses, which may involve spreadsheet and database creation and management.
  • Develop expertise in ISO/RTO markets across North America.
  • Become intimately familiar with the economics, policies, and players driving renewables, battery storage development, green fuels, and new power generation technologies.
  • Supervise simulations of the future dispatch of the power transmission grid using an economic dispatch model.
  • Review the addition/retirement of diverse generating resources using a capacity expansion model across ISO/RTO markets.
  • Understand how energy players procure power, integrate renewables, and maintain grid reliability.
  • Help develop our Reference Case while expanding our client base.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident due to nature of client engagements.
  • Currently reside in the contiguous United States.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office location.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, economics, energy finance, or engineering discipline
  • Master's degree in a business, economics, energy finance, or engineering discipline
  • Graduate degree (Masters, MBA, PhD) in business, policy, economics, energy finance, engineering

Salary/Compensations

  • $89,000.00-$148,000.00
