About the Role
The Branch Manager oversees daily branch operations, ensuring quality customer service and achieving business objectives. This role is responsible for branch profitability by implementing strategies to meet overall bank goals, driving new client acquisition, deposit gathering, and market share growth. The manager also provides direction on operational controls, compliance, and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a balance of sales, service, and operations objectives.
- Oversee daily branch operations and provide prompt retail services.
- Participate in daily operational and business development activities.
- Meet assigned sales goals by following the business development model.
- Manage account/deposit portfolios and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Direct branch human capital activities, including staffing, training, and performance management.
- Keep employees informed of internal policies and procedures.
- Facilitate team meetings to discuss goals and establish priorities.
- Partner with the District Manager to develop and execute branch strategies.
- Drive individual production goals through target clients and outbound sales activities.
- Build referral networks and relationships with internal and external partners.
- Implement new ideas and marketing strategies to improve sales performance.
- Ensure audit controls are followed and support compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Promote new business and offer suitable products and services.
- Address and resolve complex customer service issues.
- Review and reconcile branch general ledger accounts.
- Understand daily proof processes and investigate controllable losses.
- Develop new business relationships and represent Apple Bank in the community.
- Facilitate employee career growth through development planning, coaching, and training.
- Promote a positive image of Apple Bank.
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships with customers and staff.
- Serve as a liaison between branch and corporate departments.
- Staff the branch at an appropriate level and maintain schedules for adequate coverage.
- Utilize prudent judgment when approving transactions.
- Apply knowledge of applicable banking laws and regulations.
- Respond effectively to organizational, business, and regulatory changes.
- Recommend systems and procedural changes to senior management.
- Participate in the periodic installation and testing of program updates.
- Notify appropriate personnel to ensure branch facilities and equipment are maintained.
- Ensure inventory and supplies are maintained.
- Delegate work to subordinates, including follow-up and guidance.
- Analyze problems and develop sound strategies for branch management.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree and 3-5 years of branch management experience, or comparable banking experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Proven management record, preferably in banking or financial services.
- Must possess strong attention to detail with a high concern for accuracy.
- Qualified to be licensed as a Notary Public for the State of New York.
- Might be required to obtain insurance license for the sale of approved insurance/annuity products.
- Mandatory training may require occasional travel.
- Visa sponsorship not available.
