About the Role

OCMI, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, bilingual (English/Spanish) Marketing & Communications Coordinator to lead outreach for Evolve Student Housing, a new housing development project at San Diego State University. This role involves managing construction impact communications, executing on-site events, and leading strategic marketing initiatives to drive awareness and applications for the residential communities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies to build awareness, generate interest, and support occupancy goals.
  • Develop and execute communications regarding construction-related notices and impacts, including emergency notifications and media inquiries.
  • Conceptualize and host community events and on-site tours, managing all logistics.
  • Design high-quality digital and print assets for social media, digital display, signage, and print materials.
  • Coordinate photography, videography, isometrics, and virtual tours for archival and promotional use.
  • Manage and update websites, ensuring a seamless user experience and current information.
  • Create polished slide decks for stakeholder updates and community presentations.
  • Maintain a consistent and professional brand voice across all communication channels, aligning with SDSU's brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multiple offices, the architect, construction teams, and consultants for updates and material review/approval.

Requirements

  • Full professional fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to Calexico in Imperial Valley to support meetings, events, and project outreach.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate technical construction terminology into student-friendly language.
  • Must be a team player who can translate complex project updates into digestible marketing pieces.
