About the Role
The ECA is responsible for supporting the RECE, stimulating, influencing, and caring for the children. Their principle responsibilities include maintaining a high-quality environment, assessing, observing and caring for the individual needs of every child, and maintaining open and honest lines of communication between parents and team members, always exemplifying professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Support the RECE in planning and implementing a program and daily activities.
- Work cooperatively as a team member, encourage others to do likewise, and consistently maintain a positive attitude.
- Report any issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with proper procedures.
- Support the direction and participate with children in all planned activities.
- Use well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and parents.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the classroom.
Requirements
- Up-to-date First Aid and CPR.
- Up-to-date Immunization and 2 tiered TB test.
- Confident and flexible in working with all age groups (Infants to School Age).
- Ability to manage children with challenging behaviours and communicate effectively with parents.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check is contingent upon job offer.

Salary/Compensations
- Competitive hourly rate starting at $20.58 + $2.00 stipend
