About the Role

The Smile Lodge Pediatric Dentistry is seeking reliable, hard-working, and motivated individuals to join our amazing Dental Assisting team at our Clifton Park location. We offer on-the-job training, so no prior dental experience is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve patients and responsible parties from the waiting room and escort them to the clinical area.
• Escort patients and responsible parties to check out upon completion of the appointment.
• Identify and communicate patient concerns to the dentist or hygienist.
• Obtain and document consent for treatments.
• Take and document diagnostic radiographs as needed.
• Deliver benefit statements and patient education materials to legal guardians.
• Accurately document all findings and treatments performed.
• Communicate proposed treatment plans to legal guardians.
• Indicate the next required appointment using appropriate descriptions.
• Engage patients during downtimes to enhance their experience.
• Anticipate the needs of the hygienist or doctor during appointments.
• Adhere to OSHA standards by wearing appropriate PPE.
• Break down, clean, and set up workstations and rooms between appointments according to OSHA standards.
• Maintain up-to-date CPR/BLS certification.
• Keep the workstation clean and stocked.
• Embody The Smile Lodge standards as a teammate, in job performance, patient experience, and attendance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Reliable, professional, and eager to learn.
• Comfort working with children.
• Must be available for a full-time, four-day work week.
